Radio 4CA John MacKenzie 'Cairns Hillybilly Watch' has been brought to my attention that itself is now under the microscope for the very reason it freely criticises others.
Accountability and transparency applies to all including supposed whistle blowers. If allegations are cast and defamatory opinions printed by an undisclosed author then its is appropriate that the shy author be exposed so that accountability can be sheeted home to the illusive author.
I understand as I write that investigations are well underway to establish who the sponsor of the HillyBillyWatch is. At this point of time there is 'one person of interest' whose name is familiar to many follower of the Ross Parisi Blog and Facebook. I will refrain from further clues as it may prejudice enquires underway.
I will keep you posted of further development.

ReplyDeleteEveryone knows who it is, it can only be a matter of time until he is exposed.
Al Al will of course claim that there are multiple authors, and she will even claim to be one of them. However the truth is that she simiply comments on HBW articles under anonymous and assumed names.
I support your interest in this Ross. Hillbilly Watch appears to simply make stuff up. He hides behind his anonymity to make the foulest allegations against others.

"Hillbilly Watch" is the last open forum in Cairns which can "keep the bastards honest". Frankly, we need it.
ReplyDelete"One person of interest". Yet, anyone with an iota of intelligence would know that "Hillbilly" is written by several people. But, it looks like the witch hunt is going after one individual.

ReplyDeleteAs I have said before in my lead article, I have no problem in exposing corruption, if fact it should be, but do it under your legal name so that the aggrieved can take retribution if incorrect.
You risk being sued for breach of privacy. You confuse websites and Facebook. Facebook are owners responsible for published content so FB want real names as comments are not moderated by FC admin. HW They own the website and moderate the posts so they are responsible for published content as they read it and are aware before publishing. They have a right to be anonymous. They are not licensed mainstream media and even they are not accountable as "opinion".
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in YOUR allegations, Mr. Law. You claim 1) that HBW "makes stuff up", and 2) makes the foulest allegations against others.
ReplyDeleteI actually am always surprised how many links HBW reports have to other reports that tend to support their analysis. And I don't recall any "foul allegations" against anyone.
Can you provide some of what you believe are examples of these two allegations of yours?

ReplyDeleteFunnily, Ross Parisi's blog gets virtually no posts until he does a story about the HB watcher. It's obvious who people are interested in reading about.
ReplyDelete@Bill W...each one to his own...I am more than happy in my Blog daily pageviews averaging 400 per day. Judicious searches are under way to expose the villain and then the fun will start. And for the record, the author should have the integrity to place his name beside the title. While the HW Blog remains orphaned the articles are worth less than a pinch of salt.
