Refugee Council of Australia

Asylum seekers or as some of us like to tag them 'Boat people' have been the subject of much derision. The Refugee Council of Australia is the organisation that represent such people. It is always helpful to read the other side and to put things into context. Check out the website for another view on asylum seekers.

It seems every new arrival of people to Australia receives "the treatment". Certainly the arrival of Iralians, Yugoslavs and Greeks in the 1950s and 1960s were not greeted with enthusiasm by the majority British-descended population of Australia. (How people forget!)
