James Cook University Students association and students are up in arms over the decision of the University to remove the free parking in front of Block A4.
It dooes seem obvious that students carparking infrastructure has not keept pace with increases in students numbers. This reflects a lack of proper planning and funding.
The introduction of a permit based parking in front of A4 ( free until this semester ) has created a chaotic parking situation and the purpose of the permit appears to be a revenue raising.
The Student Association has launched a petition to reinstate the free parkingin front of Block A4. If you are frustrated with the new parking arrangements, if you think they create chaos, then why not visit the Association office and sign the petition. It will come down to you. You have the power to say enough is enough.
